    Made from ceramic. A commemorative cup for the coronation of HM King Edward VIII. It has a circular opening and a body that is slightly convex around the middle section, on a circular bottom. The mug is a cream ground and has applied polychrome transfers. On side of the mug has a side profile of Edwards VIII inside a oval frame of a belt, inside the belt is text: HONI.SOIT.QUI.MALY.PENSE. On either side of the belt is oak branches with acorns, below is text in a scroll: DIEU. ET. MON. DROIT.

    On the other side of the cup is a crown with: ER VIII below. Around the top of the mug is text: MAY, 1937. CORONATION. OF.KING. EDWARD. VII.

    On the base underside is a makers mark with text: SPECIAL DESIGN OF THE/ BRITISH POTTERY MANUFACTURERS FEDERATION. SOLIAN WARE
