    Kuku tui. Kuku hae. Pandanus splitter. Made from taiuli wood, this kuku hae is rectangular in shape and has four metal teeth on one end. Kuku hae is used to split dried pandanus leaves into strips for weaving, they can split whole leaves at a time. Kuku hae are still made and used today, and are made with metal teeth. Previously the teeth were made from shell.
