  • Kupu whakaahua

    ceramic vessel. Restricted vase ceramic vessel. Excavated at Matmar by Guy Brunton (Expedition No 300). Attributed to Naqada IIC-IID. Petrie Type 44D. Boats and flamingos are painted on the exterior of the vessel. Two small lugs are on opposite sides of the vessel below the rim. The rim is decorated with lines that meet into a V shape in line with the lugs. Water motif is present from the V shapes over the lugs. The base is decorated with a spiral pattern.

    Rim diameter: 99 mm, Base diameter: 43 mm, Max. diameter: 145 mm.
