Te reeree. Sword. This is an ornamental depiction of a hand held weapon. Its attachments are characteristic to those of the reeree that are eminent to i-kiribati culture. A length of light-weight wood has been cut, carved and filed to portray a blade and handle in one component. The handle portrays most of its depth through the centre and tapers inwards at the base and intersection of the blade.

Two short and horizontal spatulate lengths have been filed out from where the blade and handle intersects. The blade itself is flat in depth and finished with scalloped edges towards a short extension that has been tapered off into a point. Beneath the intersect and horizontal spatulate lengths, the kora (cordage of coconut sennit fibres) and the irauea (cordage of human hair) have been bound to create an alternating pattern. Lengths of the noko (coconut midrib) extend from the binding to line the scalloped edges of the blade. The lengths of the noko have been continuously inlayed with wii ni bakoa (sharks teeth). Central perforations through each wii ni bakoa show where the nimwaerere has been inserted for attaching and positioning the noko to the edges of the blade. Similar styled bindings to the one that covers the intersect have also been applied over the blade where the shape of the scallop has been carved inwards, further securing the noko to the edges. The nimwaerere has been lashed horizontally across the blade and continued towards the extended tapered point. Both the noko and bindings finish just below the pointed end of the reeree.
