Beater for tapa (barkcloth). Carved from rakau (wood). Carved from a solid piece of wood. Long and rectangular in shape. Four flat sides for beating tapa. The length of the beating surfaces on all sides are carved in fine grooves. The beating surface is slightly dented and worn in the middle from use. One end of the ike is carved to grip in the hand comfortably. The butt end of the grip is slightly flared.
