    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Tool used for multiple purposes including carving wooden objects. Carved from basalt stone. Dark in colour. Triangular cross-section. Dull cutting edge with large chip at right side of cutting edge and bevel surface. Bevel surface is polished, concave towards cutting edge. Blade is long, in comparison to shorter butt. Raised shoulder at end of blade, reduces to blade. Butt is polished, terminates at poll. Poll is chipped.

    Overall surface treatment of the adze is polished. Some chips at edges.
