Hafted adze (adze missing). An intricately carved wooden haft. Square pedestal base and shape. Top of the haft carved out to accommodate the fitting of a toki (adze). Puru akari (braided coconut sennit) of a fine flat iri taki toru (3-ply braid) loosely lashed on to the top of the haft. Repeated triangular geometric designs carved all over the wooden pedestal. The lashing is natural in colour.
