bottle, stoneware with partial ash glaze from kiln ash black stoneware - this bottle in the form of a compressed oblate spheroid with low narrow foot and a high neck. undecorated except for grooved annules. partially ash. Bottle, stoneware. KORYO. Partial glazing is from kiln ash. [gallery card] This flattened bottle has a low narrow foot and a high neck could possibly be late Unified Silla. It is devoid of decoration except for grooved ribs on the shoulder and neck.

Rather than stamping or combing the pots, it emphasizes a more geometric form. It is partially glazed with ash from the firing, indicating an awareness of the possibilities of intentional use of glaze on the surface of the wares. (from Korean Gallery label copy)
