    Terendak, conical hat

    Made from palm leaves, cane, rattan and cotton thread conical shape with wide brim. The rim is rattan bent into a circular shape, coloured a dark brown and attached to the hat with wrapped cane. The body is made up of layered vertical dried palm leaves that is sewn into place with red cotton string.

    Radiating from the rim is black and brown coloured strips of palm leaf arranged in triangle shapes. At the top section is horizontal applied coloured strips of cane creating patterns in 6 sections, the very top section is painted black, the next section is criss-cross black and brown cane, below that is a section of coloured blocks of palm leaf in brown, green, yellow, black, the next section is criss-cross black and brown cane, the next section is horizontal coloured strips of cane in green, yellow, black, and brown, the last section is black and brown criss-cross cane. The underside of hat is left undesigned
