  • Kupu whakaahua

Paretekohera stands on a base with both hands resting on her stomach. Although most of her body is uncarved, her upper lip has been carved with spirals and rauponga and her teeth are visible below. There is a deep square recess on one side of her stomach, and a square perforated protrusion on the top of her head. The wood used to create Paretekohera is knotted in several areas, and paua shell has been used in her eyes.
