Kahoa pelesitiki. This kahoa (neck ornament) consists of 50 lengths of plastic purple ribbon each woven into fua polo (cubes) which are strung onto a length of nylon. Each fua polo is separated from each other in the pattern by two silver plastic beads either side. This kahoa pelesitiki demonstrate the creativity and resourcefulness of the maker in using accessible materials found more easily in New Zealand than may have originally been used in Niue.
