    Lee was born in Korea and first attended art school in Seoul. She then went to Germany where she undertook further training at art school and also undertook studio assistance-ships. She now lives in Essen, Germany where she is well regarded for her functional tableware which is considered to combine Bauhaus and Korean aesthetics.
