    This uniform was received as a result of an appeal made by the New Zealand Branch of the Colstream Guards Association who wished to provide a suitable memorial to Guardsmen who fought beside New Zealanders in two World Wars. In 1984 there were about 100 ex-Guardsmen (from the five regiments of Foot Guards and two regiments of Household Cavalry) living in New Zealand, mostly in the Auckland area.
