Ormond Morris, son of William and Ellen Morris of Ormond, New Zealand, embarked from Wellington on 9th October 1915 with the 1st Battalion New Zealand Rifle Brigade. He was killed in action on the Somme, France on 19 September 1916. He is buried at Thistle Dump Cemetery, High Wood, Longueval, Plot 1:A:33
