    obverse: the Toughra of the Sultan Abdul Mecid Khan II of the Ottoman Empire (the slave of the good); laurel sprays either side

    reverse: a fortress flying the Ottoman flag with six five-pointed stars around the top; a commemorative inscription and date in Arabic at lower edge (The People of Syria and the Citadel of Acre. A.H. 1258)
