    German POW ID tag, German POW plaque: 'STALAG XVIIIa No 4162'; presented by 21273 Pte. John William (Jack) Stephens, 21st Battalion, 2NZEF.

    description: rectangular two-part metal tag; central horizontal perforation splitting tag lengthwise, top & bottom stamped (mirror-image) with Stalag number and POW number; hole punched in each of three corners for stringing tag (photographs indicate tags were usually strung through the holes on the longest side); obverse ennraved top & bottom (inverted): 'STALAG XVIII A / nr 4162'.
