    Waist ornament of coconut shell discs (English)

    Te katau te nana. Waist ornament. This is made up of two components; te kora (sennit cord) and te nana (coconut shell discs). Te nana are of its natural dark brown colour with a smooth surface. It is thin in depth and are very small in circumference. The discs have been drilled or cut from a larger piece. Each have single perforations in the centre, by which it is threaded tightly onto te kora, which is not joined together.
