George Adam Kissling arrived in New Zealand with his wife Margaret Moxon in May, 1842. Together they established the Mission station at Tekawakawa (Te Araroa). However after a serious bout of poor health, the Kisslings relocated to Auckland, where they established a Maori Girls Boarding School in Kohimarama.
