    Folder 1 -- Typed transcript of a letter attributed to William White, Wesley-Dale, Wangatoa [Whangaroa?], New Zealand, to 'My very dear Brother', dated 21 September 1824, regarding the status of the mission in New Zealand. (26 leaves)

    Volume 1 -- (1) - Two printed extracts titled "The Methodist Mission at Whangaroa" and "The Wesleyan Mission at Hokianga", [Source: Sherrin, Richard Arundell Augur. 'Early history of New Zealand', Thomson W. Leys (ed.), Brett (pub.), Auckland, 1890, pages 265-86, 355-62]; (2) - Letter from John Wesley, Wesleyan Mission-house, London, [England], to the Reverend Nathaniel Turner, dated 10 April 1840, regarding the discovery by Wesley of a credit in the Mission's accounts (holograph; 1 leaf folded); (3) - Letter from Samuel Ironside, Wellington, New Zealand, to the Secretaries of the Wesleyan Missions, [London, England], dated 13 October 1848, regarding the Committee's refusal in allowing him leave to return home to England to be with his ailing mother. Mention is also made of a series of local earthquakes that occurred on October 15th. (1 leaf folded; 4 written sides); (4) - Newspaper article by Eric Ramsden (pseud. 'Eriki') entitled 'Early Wesleyans : New Zealand Letters' [Source: 'Sydney Morning Herald', 11 August 1934]; (5) - Photograph (205 mm x 140 mm) of Reverend Samuel Leigh, taken from a silhouette portrait [Copy Neg. No. C1816]; and (6) - Photograph (125 mm x 80 mm) of Reverend John Hobbs, aged 29, from a painting by Major Sturgeon.
