    Illustrated souvenir publication (16 cm) entitled 'Samoa' belonging to 7/1181 Sergeant Bernard McGeehan, ex-Samoa (NZ) Expeditionary Force, 1914 - 1915. Contains two pages of autographs signed by the officers and men of the 3rd Auckland Infantry Regiment, Radio Station, Apia, Samoa, and friends of Sergeant McGeehan, including some from the NZ Rifle Brigade.

    Evidential date of publication possibly 1908, derived from mention of United States Consul Mason Mitchell (1859-1930) having been appointed to Samoa in 1908 (last entry). (16 leaves) [FRAGILE]

  • 7/1181 Sergeant Bernard McGeehan was born on 10 June 1884, at Owharoa, New Zealand. He served with the 3rd Auckland Infantry Regiment, Samoa (NZ) Expeditionary Force, 1914-1915, and the Canterbury Mounted Rifles. He died in New Zealand on 9 October 1954, aged 70.
