Sail number: NV; Q; V8 probably Tekana

18-foot class, round or square bilge, clinker or carvel, usually with bowsprit. Many never raced; were purpose-built, ballasted cruisers. In 1948 a group broke away & formed 18-ft Flying Squadron. They abandoned numbers and carried insignia on their sails, eg Gay Deceiver, reg V-226, but carried a coloured square on sail.
