Uncommon. A small blackish moss growing on uplifted coral reef about midway up island. Plants restricted to site sheltered by overhanging Asplenium northlandicum. "Costa with hyaline apiculus, syntrichia areolation in leaf base. New to Kermadec Islands - J.E. Beever 21 June 2011".
