    Secondary forest. Shrub to 10 ft tall, often multistemmed; leaves linear, 43 x 9 cm, petiole 23 cm long, winged & clasping stem, adaxial surface dark glossy green, abaxial surface grey-green; flowers in spikes, tepals purple, 1 cm long.
