Smith, London, [England], with metal clasp, containing chiefly New Zealand scenes (Kawakawa River [Bay of Islands]; Waikere River; Okaihau Lake; Pakaraka Valley [Northland]; Horotutu [Bay of Islands]; Paihia, Bay of Islands; Russell, Bay of Islands; Gisborn; Otahuhu, January, 1872; but also including several figure studies; a pencil sketch of a traction engine linked to either a hay baler or wheat thresher; a pencil sketch of behives; and a water colour scene of women reading and doing needlework inside a simply constructed house. First and last pages are inscribed: "Fanny Martin April 1868" (156 leaves)
