Premier's Trip to the Pacific Islands.
Description: Album containing photographs taken during Premier Richard Seddon’s trip to the Pacific Islands from May-June 1900. Officially the trip was undertaken due to Seddon’s health and at the advice of his medical advisors. Seddon’s family travelled with him to the Islands, along with his officers and friends. The party included Mrs Louisa Jane Seddon, Misses May and Ruby (Rubi) Seddon. Mr Francis Trask (late Mayor of Nelson), Mrs Emily Trask, Mr and Mrs Hamer, Mr J.F. Andrews, Dr Teare, Edward Tregear, Mrs Tregear, Maud Hennah, Mr Sears (land surveyor) and Mrs Hales. The group departed on the Government despatch boat SS “Tutanekai” on the 16th May 1900.
