The aim of the Human Interface Guidelines (HIGS) is to provide a framework for the development of engaging digital visitor experiences throughout galleries and exhibitions at Auckland Museum (AM); creating and maintaining a consistent look and feel over time and across interfaces.
The HIGS are for developers, designers, producers and Museum staff who are creating digital experiences for AM, they are informed and shaped by our Digital Experience Design Principles.
There are two main types of digital experiences: digital products and one-off digital experiences. Those working on a digital product will need to adhere closely to these HIGS. There may be some more flexibility for one-off experiences, but it’s still important that you read them and understand what can be applied to the experience you’re creating.
