Video

Follow the below conventions when including video in a digital experience.

Function

  • When a video is tapped from the main menu, playback should commence fullscreen.
  • When a video first opens, the controls (play button, volume, scrub and time counter on bottom menu bar and back arrow in the top left hand corner) should display for 6 seconds before disappearing completely. The controls can be displayed again by tapping the video screen anywhere during playback.
  • During playback, if a video is paused and not touched for 30s, experience will default back to the attractor screen.
  • When on the video menu screen, if the screen is not touched for 60s, experience will default back to the attractor screen.

Content

  • Play buttons should not be placed over people’s faces on the video menu screen.
  • Attractor screen video content should be atmospheric, include fairly fast cuts and should not feel like something that you could sit down and watch for a long time.
