Blind and low vision visitors are invited to join our specially trained volunteer guides for an audio described tour of our current exhibition Carried Away: Bags Unpacked.
This exhibition showcases 150 individual bags from Auckland Museum's collection, many on display for the first time.
From haute couture fashion to those from cultural traditions, every bag has a story to tell. Bags can convey social standing, practical needs or be a piece of art.
These audio described tours are free, but places are limited to 6 per tour.

Sighted companions and guide dogs are welcome.

Guides will meet and greet you on arrival, followed by a 45 minute tour and a 30 minute supported gallery exploration so that you can ask questions and investigate the exhibition further.
