Auckland Museum Members are invited to lecture series dedicated to all things Ancient Greek. Each lecture will be hosted by an expert in their field, bringing you insights you won't find anywhere else.
Matariki has surged into national consciousness over the past decade, but is still widely misunderstood. This year is the inaugural public holiday celebrating Matariki, and Dr Dan Hikuroa will discuss Matariki, Maramataka, and Mātauranga.

Join Dr Jeremy Armstrong, Associate Professor of Ancient History at the University of Auckland, as he explores how freshly unearthed evidence is changing our view of Ancient Greek warfare.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, our Evening with an Expert sessions have gone online. This series of short, 20-minute talks will be led by a different Auckland War Memorial Museum staff member each week, with topics ranging from fashion to activism to conservation and everything in between.

We’re proud to announce Dr Vincent O’Malley as the inaugural Auckland Museum Institute Humanities Lecturer for 2022. In his lecture, Dr O’Malley will describe how the Great War for New Zealand, begun from the invasion of Waikato in 1863, played out in Tāmaki Makaurau, and the legacy it left behind.
