The brand-new international exhibition Secrets of Stonehenge is coming to Tāmaki Makaurau. Featuring more than 300 ancient artefacts from more than 4,000 years ago including stone tools, antler picks, pottery, gold and bronze objects, these artefacts and the latest scientific evidence reveal the secrets behind one of the world’s most inspiring and sacred sites.
First there was Peter, now meet Barbara. For the first time ever, Auckland Museum is the only place in the world to exhibit an adult male and female T. rex together. Don’t miss two of the rarest, real T. rex skeletons ever discovered.
Meet AR Dinos at the Museum! You’ll find them wandering in Weird & Wonderful, stalking Te Ao Mārama South Atrium and lurking in the Imaginarium - augmented reality dinosaurs are everywhere at Auckland Museum! Scan the codes with your phone to see six prehistoric giants come to life right before your eyes, then have your photo taken with them.
Our annual Lest We Forget Poetry Competition is now open. This year's theme is 'Pause for Thought'. Finalists will be invited to read their entries inside the Museum on Anzac Day.
