Kia ora! We want to mark and celebrate this auspicious and special day with free activities for the whole family. Be welcomed by some well known waiata being played throughout the museum to celebrate te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Gather your family together and create your own badges using some Te Tiriti-related designs, colours and kupu (words).

Watch out for TĀNGATA WHENUA, TĀNGATA TIRITI: KOTAHITANGA supplied by Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision. A special compilation of archival footage from historical moments of Waitangi celebrations from the 1970s and 1980s.
Be introduced to some key kupu (words), kupu kōrero (phrases) and day to day phrases that may trigger your journey towards learning te Reo Māori.
