  • Dear Grandad Joseph,

Thank you for being a loving husband to Grandma Lorna and an amazing father and role model to my dad Michael and my Aunty Christine. The legacy you have left behind is a testament to the man that you must have been.

I wish you could be here to meet your grandchildren, and for them to hear tales from when you were young and also the hardships of your time serving in the war. We thank you for your service to our country and for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

    We love you grandad

Love Maria, Paula, Claire, David, Olivia, Isabella, Austy, Jack, Sophia, Vanny, Mela, Chloe, xox

  • Grandad I was born a year after you passed away. My name is Maria & I am the oldest daughter of your son Michael Kerry Firmin & his wife my mum Robyn Ann Firmin.

Dad was an amazing father & you did a wonderful job in raising him you would of been very proud. He had 6 children so you are a grandfather to 6 and another 5 from your daughter Christine Firmin now Thompson through marriage who . You are also great Grand Father to another 12 children with another on the way.

I personally spent a lot of time with Lorna Firmin your beloved sweet heart who you later married in Palmerston North, she came to live in Dunedin where she passed away peacefully.
