  • I was to young to really know you but I have been fascinated about what you did during the war. I'm here at Waiouru with my family. Rachel, Rata and Miro. We have been to National park and Ohakune ANZAC services today. 0600 dawn service at National park. Cold but dry! Rach and I in the parade marching on at Ohakune. I want to know more about where you went during WW2. Someone in the family has your service record which Ill get.

  • I miss you dad. Keep the music going, you would be pleased to see your kids, grandkids and great grandkids enjoying playing and singing. Have read great stories of you and your trusty uke in the war, you had some great mates in the war and after. We. Would have a great jam session if we could all be together. Love you and thank you for everything you taught me xxxx

  • Poppa - only knew Poppa for 9 years.
Made a great cup of tea but only if you turned the teapot three times! Great musician - loved his banjo! So caring and loved all his family and grand kids.

  • Special memories of you Poppa. Amazing musician, Benny Hill fan, a few quiet ales and a quiet gentlemanly disposition.
Forever in my heart and lucky to have these special memories.
