    Owen Wiles MacDONALD born Owen WILES in 1916, his father d. 1917 in Palestine so he was adopted out Public - Royce - Other relative - 1 April 2018 - NZ Registrar-General on-line birth index (reg no. 1916/23712) shows Owen Wiles MacDONALD's father Henry Musto WILES, mother Florence Emily MITCHELL. Henry Musto WILES was killed in Palestine 1917 & Florence Emily remarried in 1920 and so it seems Owen was then formally adopted by Mr & Mrs. A MacDONALD of Westport. This is clear from the marriage announcement in the PRESS, VOLUME LXXVIII, ISSUE 23750, 23 SEPTEMBER 1942, page 1
