Edward's siblings were Arnold Adlington Fenwick, Dorothy Gladys, Fenwick, Douglas Owen Fenwick, Edward Clifford Fenwick, Joyce Fenwick, Mary Evelyn Fenwick and Wilfred Eric Fenwick. Alan's paternal grandparents were Ralph Green Fenwick and Annie nee Cliff. The family were original settlers in the Kaipara area, mainly Paparoa.
