    • Embarked from Lyttleton on his birthday the 2nd of May 1940 destination Egypt on board the converted liner Andes. En route the 2 nd Echelon was diverted to England to counter invasion threats. It remained there for about six months before proceeding to Egypt. The 11th Forestry Company remained in England engaged in clearing forest around coastal areas and later setting up sawmill to produceital war supplies.
