  • Employed as a fisherman by Pegasus Fishing Company before the war, William later arrived in Alexandria, Egypt on 5 October 1943 as part of the 9th Reinforcements. He then fought with the New Zealand Corps in Italy, including during the Allied offensive at Monte Cassino. AWMM
