  • Eldest son of Neil and Daisy McKay (nee Curragh), two siblings John Fletcher and Marie Ranford.

    The family resided at The Lodge at Sunnyside Asylum, Christchurch where Neil was employed as a Senior Male Nurse and Attendant.

    Both Merv and John enlisted in the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Merv lated joined the J-Force and then returned to The Lodge to continue working as a Clerk with his father. AWMM
