"MCKAY, Leslie John. (Ex NZ Army Reg:203610) Korean War Veteran born 10th September 1925 passed peacefully in his sleep 2nd September 2021 at Middlemore Hospital. Dad you are now with "the love of your life" mum, Valerie Mckay born 3rd April 1932 passed away peacefully in her sleep at home 25th February 2021. You fought a brave battle dad and I held your hand til mum slipped her hand in yours and took you to be with her. You both have left a huge hole in our lives and will be sadly missed by your daughter Maxine and grandchildren Nikkala (USA) Scott (UK) great grandchildren. Ryder and Kairo (USA) Rest In Peace with mum. Due to current Restrictions a celebration of both Les and Val's lives will be held at a later date. Love Maxine and Family." AWMM
