I don't have any details. They were in captivity for a few days. Jim found a badly dented silver hip flask in the desert, engraved with the name of Brigadier Hargest. He donated it to Auckland Museum where it is currently on display (i.e. January 2018)."He married Mary (DME) Barker in August 1943, they had eight children. AWMM We have a collection of Dad's memoirs on disc if anyone would like them, let me know. They are very interesting as a reference to day to day living during his time in the army. He did not speak of it much as we were growing up, he kept it to himself. For him to have shared this with us is an honour and something we treasure.
