    • British Army soldier, born in Dunedin. Served in Unit B Battery, 99th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

      Son of Norman Matthew Fortescue and Isabel Irvine Perston nee Moffat. Nephew of W W Squire of Nelson.

      Educated at Waikato High School and then Nelson College. Began working at BNZ in Nelson then to Auckland to farm. Left NZ for England in November of 1915 to join Royal Field Artillery.

      Died in Greece aged 30 years while on active service. AWMM
