  • Served in the Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit, Second World War. He was taken prisoner and beheaded by Japanese forces on 14 August 1942, with his body being thrown into the sea at Buna Beach, Papua. Family source.

    Reported as serving on this Aubrietia-class sloop in September 1918 - this ship also served as Q-Ship No. 14 under names Cranford & Damaris. Public source.

    Served on HMS Sunflower, HMS Dreel Castle, HMS Viola, HM Trawler Samuel Dowden and HMS Begonia in the First World War as a member of the Royal Navy Reserve. AWMM
