    SOLDIER SETTLER KILLED. (Per United Press Association.) BLENHEIM, December 23. Frederick Langloh Donkin, aged 45 years, a married man, was killed at noon yesterday through his motor lorry running back over the edge of a road near Picton. The vehicle fell 20ft into a gully. The man was pinned underneath the lorry, and was not discovered till late in the afternoon, when he was quite dead. Deceased was an ex-major of the Royal Field Artillery, and served in the South African War and the Great War. He was a soldier settler. He leaves a widow and son aged 11 years in England. AWMM
