    • Son of Ven. Thomas Samuel Grace (Jr), Archdeacon of Marlborough (New Zealand) and Rhoda Caroline Colt. Thomas Samuel Grace (Jr) was the son of Archdeacon Thomas Samuel Grace and Agnes Fearon. Rhoda Caroline Colt was the daughter of Charles Russell Colt and Geraldine Adelaide Elizabeth Gilbert. Geraldine was the daughter of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert, a direct paternal line descendant of the famed Sir Humphrey Gilbert.

      Educated at Nelson College.
