  • William Doo was part of the Home Guard in Auckland in WWII. He was not accepted into the army because of flat feet so he served with the Home Guard.
    William Doo also had a foundry in Federal Street, Auckland City which made munitions for the War. At that time he also made lead toys going under the name of Tommy Doo. One of his lead tractors is on display at Auckland Museum.
    He also worked as a restaurant owner, acupuncturist and herbalist. AWMM
