  • Son of Joseph Samuel & Kathleen Agatha (nee Garey) Hopkins, of Gapes Valley. Attended Bromley School, Christchurch, & Gapes Valley School. Brother Harrap William Hopkins died of disease in 1915 & brother Leslie Garey Hopkins was killed in action in 1917. Married Enid Zoe Fowler in 1927; son Harrap Douglas Hopkins, daughter Zoe Constance Catherine Hopkins. Presented with a wristlet watch at his farewell in Gapes Valley hall in January 1918.
