  • James Clark Depree was born on 6 April 1886 at Timaru, the son of Henry Carswell (Harry) and Elizabeth Jane (Lizzie, née Martin) Dpree. He was educated at Timaru Main School, moving from the Infant School to the Upper School in 1894. In 1909 James married May Oppenheim. His brother, John Griffiths Depree, was killed in action in 1918 in France. Biography provided by the Timaru Museum SCRoll project. AWMM
