    • Mentioned in Despatches (MiD) AWMM
For meritorious service. Corporal McKay's responsibility during the last six months has been in the supervision of all minor inspections to the Unit's aircraft. This position carries with it a considerable amount of technical worries involving long and erratic hours of arduous work. His cheerfulness, resourcefulness and determination to rapidly carry out a faultless job has made him an outstanding personality in the Unit. His organisation, administration and technical knowledge is remarkable for a man of his rank, but his outstanding characteristic is in his ability to keep Section working efficiently during the long sleepless hours, when emergencies made heavy demands on his Section. Through his exceptional loyalty and determination to maintain his Section at peak efficiency, he obtained first class results, thereby contributing largely to the operational succes of the RNZAF in this Area.
