    • Born at Avenal Invercargill 24 May 1893
      Brother of George Hocken Massey
      Joined OTC from Burford
      Commissioned into the Royal Field Artillery and served in Western Europe
      Killed in action 27 May 1918 when the battery he was commanding was destroyed by enemy fire with only five members surviving.
      Awarded MC, MiD and Croix de Guerre with palms (France)
