6 December 1928 AWMM Married AWMM
LADIES’ LETTER Northern Advocate, 6 October 1928. The wedding was celebrated at the Registry Office, Whangarei, on Wednesday, September 26th, of Miss Agnes Simpson, only daughter and and Mrs Simpson, Valley Road, Hikurangi, to Mr Charles Carstairs, of King Street, Hikurangi (both late of Fifeshire, Scotland). The bride was daintily attired in beige crepe do chine with hat, shoes and stockings to match. She carried a beautiful bouquet of cream roses and fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Peggy Marshall, was tastefully frocked in pale blue crepe de chene, with hat, shoes and stockings to match. She carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas, fern and roses. Mr George Weathcrall carried out the duties of best man. The wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The tables were tastefully decorated with Iceland poppies and fern. A dance was held in the evening to complete the festivities. AWMM
